Back in Shape: How I lost the baby weight

I often tell the story that I gained 10 pounds each month with my last pregnancy. It wasn’t really every month, but for several months, I really did gain 10 pounds. It was tough, I put so much weight and I worked really hard to lose every bit of it for the past 12 months. I am still trying to get my body in a better shape but I feel great and confident after all.

My plan was simple, workout and eat right.

THE FITNESS JOURNEY: It started with our move to Orlando. Milan was 6 weeks when we moved to our new home and I started walking around the neighborhood to get my body moving. Then incorporated the Nike Training app (which I’ve talked about before and love). During the Summer months, I discovered FIT4MOM in Celebration and joined an amazing group of moms that I can now call my friends. With new projects and events in the recent months it’s become difficult to make it on time to classes, so I’ve decided to try the ToneItUp app and have seen amazing changes in my body. Now I am really hoping that during the following two months I can shed whatever’s left.

EATING RIGHT: I knew what it would take, I knew what I had to do to achieve my goals so I reduced carbs and sugars. It’s definitely easier said than done but I tried my best, I cheated, and went back to my plan. Balance is always key for me so I never completely eliminate the foods I love even if I don’t eat them every day.

Here are some photos of where I was a year ago and some more recent. The pictures might not show much difference but I went from a size 8 right after delivery to a size 2 at the moment.

I’m the first one in a blue top – April 6, 2018

I’m feeling great and stronger and would advice every mom to try different options and do whats best for them but always stay active and slowly but surely you’ll get where you need to be.
